In Greek mythology, Pegasus is a divine, winged horse, typically depicted as white, who was born from the blood of the Gorgon Medusa when she was beheaded by Perseus. He was sired by the sea god Poseidon and later became the servant of Zeus, carrying his thunderbolts.
